Nordanede Pikefight 2022 in Mellansjön

A pike competition in one of Sweden's best pike lakes, a stone's throw from Sweden's center. We compete in teams where we use a maximum of 3 simultaneous rods and the length of the team's 5 largest fish is added together.

This year with an even bigger prize table from our sponsors, led by fiske.se and Abu Garcia, Westin and others. Fine fishing gear for raffle among all starting teams that have submitted result cards, no catch is required for this.

Welcome to the fifth edition of Nordanede Pikefight!

COMPETITION INFORMATION

- Call the competition management if you have more questions

• Dashboards and minutes are picked up on Friday (from 3 PM) and on Saturday until 10.30 at the village farm in Nordanede. Last chance is from 10.31 to 10.50 at the launching ramp at the bridge, where we can hand them out to your boat if you come by sea. Do not forget your own pen to fill in the minutes. Make sure to take the correct board according to your teamnumber. Team numbers can be found at the bottom of this page.

• Competition review / Captain meeting takes place via e-mail on Friday. Call the competition management (check your spam first) if you have not received this by Friday afternoon. This email may contain important last-minute info, otherwise everything is on this page. Read this page carefully.

• Fishing can be done from a boat or from land.

• Maximum three simultaneous rods per team. So you can be 22 people in the boat and you can bring 40 fishing rods. A maximum of 3 people can fish at the same time. If you conjure, there is one rod each, if you are only two in the boat, there will only be two rods in the water.

• The total size of the 5 longest fish counts. In addition, prizes are awarded to the First, Longest & Shortest fish.

• You send a picture of the fish that is correctly on the measuring board via mobile phone to the competition management, the number is on the minutes, which every half hour reports the position via the Facebookgroup. Mobile phone with camera must therefore be brought.

• No report is given for the last 1.5 hours to keep up the tension.

• Dashboard for measuring and photographing caught fish is lent and is a must.Fiskens längd avrundas till närmaste centimeter nedåt.

• As the "first fish", we count the time for the approved image received.

• Fishing can take place throughout the Mediterranean, but all boats start together south of the bridge in Nordanede. The gutter above the power line is NOT included in the competition area, the power line is a clear boundary.

• Fishing equipment is optional. Use a spinning rod, reel rod, fly rod or angler. Otter boards and nets are of course not allowed.

• We recommend Catch & Release but it is up to each boat to decide. The fish you intend to eat can be taken for granted.

• Just before 11.00, all boats gather at the bridge and then follow the master boat out on the Mediterranean. We go in a procession out into deep water.

• The start at approx. 11:00 is common as all boats have come out in deep water and the competition management gives a signal. The signal is a real cannon shot from land that everyone will hear, then the competition starts. When the stove is to be lit and burn, the start can vary for a couple of minutes, but rest assured, you will not miss the start signal ;-)

• The cannon ends the competition at 16.00. You who fish far away can keep an eye on the clock. Pictures received after the competition is over are not included in the results. The protocols and rinsed measuring boards must be submitted no later than 16:30 at the launching ramp at the bridge. (Even empty minutes should be submitted for a chance at lottery prizes.)

• Award ceremony at 17:30 at the village farm.

The registration fee goes back in full to your competitors. The prize money is distributed as follows:

1st 50% of the registration fees (2021 it was SEK 7,350)
2nd 25% of the registration fees (2021 it was SEK 3,675)
3rd 10% of registration fees (2021 it was SEK 1,470)
Longest fish - 15% of the registration fees (2021 it was SEK 2,205)

To all children under the age of 13 in the boat, we hand out fishing tackle at the award ceremony. You state the children's name via e-mail to [email protected]. All children will receive something.

AWARD CEREMONY, BUFFET AND PARTY

- Food, Music & Dance all evening and a bit into the night

• After finishing fishing at 16:00 prize giving takes place at 17:30 at the village farm and we continue to talk fishing.

• After the award ceremony, we take and serve dinner around 18.30 to those who pre-registered for the evening's activities.

• Everyone is welcome, even those who are not involved in fishing.

• It is possible to set up caravans at the village farm.

REGISTRATION

REGISTRATION FOR THE FISHING COMPETITION:
Registration fee: SEK 300 + fishing license SEK 50 / person. (The vast majority of fish with a maximum of 3 rods allowed and then SEK 450 must be paid.)

You who have an annual license do not of course have to pay a fishing license for this competition.

Cost for dinner SEK 250 / adult, SEK 150 / youth <15 years. Here, too, we aim for a cost price so it will be proper with food and dessert.

BOATS, CARS AND TRAILERS

Boats are launched at the mooring at the bridge, or at the bathing place.

It is forbidden to launch boats that have been in other watercourses if these have not been dried to complete dryness both inside and outside OR are disinfected inside and outside with undiluted rubbing alcohol. Also applies to fishing gear, ie everything that has been in other water. This is due to crayfish plague so it is very important that this is followed. Spraying with rubbing alcohol will also be on site, but we recommend dryness as the rubbing alcohol, for example, can damage certain decals.

Cars & trailers / trailers can be parked by the bridge, the bathing area and the village courtyard. Remember to park smart so that everyone can get around.

OTHER

Keep in mind that the middle lake, like most lakes, is hilly with most shallow rock fields and log areas. The biggest dangers are the shallow strait in the middle of the middle sea where it is important to stay in the gutter in the middle and the long stone coffin that is in the northern part above the bridge. Drive carefully!

There is a large island in the middle of the lake where it is excellent to grill on your own, have lunch and visit the outdoor toilet.

For those of you who are going home after the competition and not partying at the village farm, we recommend that you plan sausage grilling or similar after the competition as it will take some time before the award ceremony takes place. We really recommend that you sign up for the evening.
